Two ways to take part
Défi Source is open to everyone who wants to move the healthcare system forward. Lead your own project or join a selected team: two complementary ways to contribute to the emergence of innovative solutions.
Selected projects benefit from a three-day bootcamp, support from coaches and experts, as well as more than CHF 15'000 in prizes and the possibility of post-event support.
How does it work?

Have you identified a need or an opportunity for improvement in healthcare? Submit your project and gather around you the skills needed to turn it into a concrete solution.
The 1-minute video pitch
A clear idea beats a polished video
Simply film yourself with your phone. What matters is what you have to say. Your pitch should answer three questions:
- What real-world problem have you identified?
- What solution do you have in mind?
- Why does this project matter to you?
What your project gains
- 7 expert clinics to challenge your project
- A dedicated coach from the first to the last day of the bootcamp
- Prototyping at the FabLab and real-world testing at the Hôpital Simulé
- More than CHF 15’000 in prizes and six months of support for the winning projects

With a maximum of five members, teams rely on complementary skills and on everyone’s commitment.

No, submitting a project and taking part in Défi Source are free of charge.
Projects selected for the Défi Source will be published on the website from 2 April 2027, allowing participants to discover the challenges proposed. From 5 to 18 April 2027, teams are formed around the selected projects based on participants’ skills, interests, and expertise.
During this period, individuals wishing to join a project apply directly to the project lead. Project leads receive the applications and assemble their teams, with support from the organizing team if needed.
For any questions regarding intellectual property or participation conditions, please refer to the Défi Source Rules & Regulations.
If your project is not selected, you can still join one of the 12 selected teams and fully participate in the Défi Source. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of an innovative project while benefiting from the experience, networking opportunities, and learning provided throughout the programme.
